The Department of Dental Materials at NMDC focuses on the study,
development, and application of dental materials used in modern dentistry
through quality education, research, and practical training. With experienced
faculty and modern laboratory facilities, we train students to understand the
properties, handling, and clinical applications of various dental materials
while promoting precision, safety, and quality in dental practice.
The department provides students with practical knowledge of restorative materials,
impression materials, dental cements, dental polymers, gypsum products, dental ceramics,
and other materials used in restorative, prosthodontic, and operative dentistry. Students
are encouraged to develop essential laboratory skills and an understanding of material
selection, manipulation, and performance in clinical applications.
Our goal is to promote excellence in dental materials education and research,
equipping students with the knowledge and practical skills required to select
and utilize dental materials effectively while preparing them to become competent,
confident, and well-rounded dental professionals.
